This graduate thesis describes how investing and applying new technologies can optimize the production process, while reducing production time with faster and better laser cutting. The work is divided into seven parts. First part of deals with introduction. The second part deals wit the definition of the laser, the history of laser development, the construction of the laser, it describes the principle of laser operation and introduces us to the energy levels necessary for laser operation. The third part describes the division of lasers used in industry. The fourth part describes the machine components for laser cutting. The fifth part deals with laser cutting, which describes the different types of cutting as well as the parameters required for laser cutting. In conclusion, it was presented on the basis of the study conducted by comparing two lasers (fiber and CO2 ) that investing in fiber lasers is profitable because of the higher cutting speed and better quality of the cutting surface, but that in the future CO2 lasers will have their place in the application of laser metal cutting.
