Air quality monitoring with low energy consumption sensors is becoming an increasingly important aspect in monitoring the environment and protecting human health. This paper explores the use of low-power sensors for air pollution monitoring. Such sensors enable the continuous collection of data on the concentrations of harmful substances in the air, including those arising from industrial plants, traffic and other sources of pollution. The advantages of these sensors include their affordability, mobility, and the ability to be deployed in a variety of environments, including urban and rural areas. In this paper, we will explain in detail the causes of air pollution and the methods of detection and measurement of air quality. Different harmful factors require different sensors, which are widely applicable in various fields. The focus of this paper is on the study and comparison of two different sensors for air pollution detection, describing their working principle and their connection and software solution that makes up the system, as well as low energy consumption sensors, considering that this is the main issue of the development of this final paper. In addition, we will emphasize the advantages of such a system and its importance for environmental protection.
